We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical professional to support our preconstruction and estimating efforts. This role focuses on preparing cost estimates, coordinating bid submissions, and integrating AI tools to streamline the estimating process. Ideal candidates will be comfortable working with construction documents, Excel-based workflows, and project management systems like Procore. You'll play a key role in building systems that ensure accuracy, efficiency, and clarity throughout the bidding lifecycle.
Estimating & Preconstruction Support:
• Prepare detailed cost estimates and perform quantity takeoffs using Excel, Procore, and AI tools like ChatGPT.
• Assist in developing bid proposals and evaluating subcontractor quotes to ensure competitive and accurate pricing.
Bid Coordination & Documentation:
• Organize bid packages, track submissions, and manage subcontractor communications.
• Ensure bid coverage across all trades and generate comparison sheets and summaries for internal and client review.
Workflow & Systems Development:
• Build and optimize estimating workflows within project management tools (e.g., Procore).
• Maintain clean, accurate data and streamline systems that support bid tracking and cost reporting.
AI Integration & Technology Adoption:
• Work with leadership to implement AI-driven solutions for estimating and documentation.
• Support the transition from Google-based tools to Microsoft platforms, including Excel macros and Power BI.
Cross-Functional Communication & Support:
• Coordinate with internal teams, vendors, and clients to clarify scope, pricing assumptions, and proposal details.
• Maintain up-to-date estimating files, organize key information, and support executive decision-making.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (preferred but not required).
• Experience in the construction industry (residential, civil, or commercial).
• Familiarity with Procore, Bluebeam, or similar construction PM tools.
• Strong Excel and/or database skills; experience with system architecture is a bonus.
• Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal.
• High learning agility and initiative — comfortable with self-learning and taking on complex problems.
• Bonus: Experience using AI tools (ChatGPT, LLMs) in professional settings.
• Highly organized and systems-oriented.
• Technically curious and solutions-driven.
• Prior experience supporting U.S.-based construction firms.
• Familiar with full lifecycle of construction projects: from bid through execution.
• Able to work independently and report progress clearly and consistently.
Work Hours
• Full-time (40 hours/week)
• US Business Hours (Eastern Time Zone preferred)
• Daily updates and task tracking required
